| If after your Try-Dive you
would like to join the club and begin training please discuss this
with the Training
Officer or contact the Membership
Secretary. The
training officer will describe the training program and arrange a
starting date for your training.
Training consists of both practical and theory lessons.
The practical lessons progress from the indoor pool at Archway
School to sheltered open water dives that introduce you to the
marine underwater world.
Theory lessons are organised on weekday evenings and will give
you an understanding of the effects of breathing compressed air
at a variety of depths and how to use the equipment safely.
As you progress through your training your qualification and dive
record book will be signed by the instructor as proof of your training
and ability.
As you gain experience you will be able to join club members in
more adventurous dives around the coast or on one of the expeditions
abroad.
As a trainee member of the club you have free use of club equipment
for both pool sessions and open water diving. Once you have had
more experience of diving in open water our many experienced divers
in the club can give advice on the purchase of personal equipment.
